Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue began the Spring season with a 5-2 victory over Carroll County in Flora, IN. Dillon Westerfeld scored first for Batesville followed by a goal by Johnny Hamm. Batesville went into halftime leading 2-0. After halftime, Heny Luchow scored on a nice pass from Johnny Hamm. Thomas Hertel scored on a long shot from half field to make it 4-0. Carroll County countered with 2 quick goals in the last 10 minutes before John Krieger completed the scoring with a left footed volley.

Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue defeated Martinsville 3-2 in a very close game in Martinsville, IN. Martinsville scored first early in the first half. Batesville came back to tie it on a shot from Henry Luchow. Martinsville scored just before halftime to make it 2-1. The early part of the second saw end to end action as the Batesville defense led by John Krieger and Leo Giesey kept Martinsville from scoring. Midway through the second half, Heny Luchow socred off a pass from Taylor Reed. The same two connected a few minutes later with Luchow pasing to Reed who scored the game winner. It was a well played match with Batesville playing with just the minimum number of players. It was a total team effort.

Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue lost a close game to Westside United in Avon, IN by a score of 4 - 3. Playing conditions were very challenging as it was very windy, rainy and cold. Westside pressed the action early as they had the wind at their back, but Batesville scored first on a breakaway goal by Henry Luchow off a pass from Zach Fong. Westside United quickly countered and tied the score 1 - 1 going into halftime. Westside scored early in the second half off a rebound to go up 2 -1, but this time Batesville quickly responded with Luchow scoring on a pass from Taylor Reed. Batesville then went ahead as Luchow scored his third of the game on a pass from John Krieger. In the last 7 minutes of the game Westside scored two goals to win 4 -3. It was a well-played match for both teams.

Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue defeated Vigo County 5-2 in Batesville, IN. Vigo County scored first on a perfect corner kick play. Batesville tied the game up midway through the first half on a goal by Henry Luchow on a pass from Taylor Reed. Batesville continued to press the action on the offensive end with several good scoring opportunities. Zach Fong scored just before halftime to give Batesville a 2 -1 lead. As in the first half, Vigo County scored early in the half on a perfectly executed corner kick. Batesville took control of the game from that point, as Fong scored his second goal on a cross from Luchow. Dillon Westerfeld then picked up a loose ball and scored to make it 4 - 2. Batesville finished the scoring with Luchow scoring off a nice feed from Westerfeld. Batesville's defense was anchored by Thomas Hertel, Drew Grossman and Elliott Prickel.
Batesville is now is first place in the Boys U12A Blue Division with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss.

On Saturday April 26th, the Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue lost a well-played game to Dynamo FC from Indianapolis in Batesville by a score of 4 - 2. Dynamo scored the first two goals to go up 2 - 0 midway through the first half. Batesville played an excellent first half with several scoring opportunities that were turned away by Dynamo. Batesville scored twice before halftime to tie the score. Henry Luchow converted a penalty kick after being tripped, then John Krieger scored off a misplayed goal kick. Dynamo scored again early in the second half to go up 3 - 2. Dynamo completed the scoring later in the half to go up 4 -2. Despite the score, it was one of the best played games for the Batesville Bulldogs who got strong efforts from midfielder Johnny Hamm and Fullback Drew Grossman.

On Sunday April 27th, the Batesville Bulldogs boys U12A Blue traveled to West Lafayette to play the TIPPCO Thunder. The game ended in a 2 - 2 tie. Batesville controlled the ball a majority of the first half but was unable to score. TIPPCO scored late in the first half off a breakaway to go up 1 - 0 at the half. TIPPCO came out after halftime and scored quickly, catching Batesville off guard. Batesville regained control of the game and continued to press the attack. This resulted in Henry Luchow scoring off a cross from Dillon Westerfeld to make it 2 -1. John Krieger then scored off another assist from Westerfeld to tie the game at 2-2. The final minutes saw back and forth action, but no additional scoring. Batesville got strong performances from midfielders Thomas Hertel and Taylor Reed.
Batesville is now is third place in the Boys U12A Blue Division with a record of 4 wins, 2 losses and one tie.

On Saturday May 3rd, the Batesville Bulldogs U12A soccer team improved their record to 5 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie in the Central Indiana Youth Soccer League with a 4 -1 victory over New Palestine. On a very windy day, Batesville took advantage of having the wind that their back as Henry Luchow scored twice in the first five minutes of the game to put Batesville up 2 - 0. Johnny Hamm assisted on the first goal while Dillon Westerfeld assisted on the second. Later in the first half, Batesville's Andrew Hussey scored on a cross from Zach Fong. New Palestine took advantage of a loose ball in front of the Batesville goal to make the score 3 -1. Just before halftime, Zach Fong assisted on Luchow's third goal of the game to make the score 4 -1. Playing into the wind in the second half, Batesville played an excellent defensive half led by John Krieger in goal, and Tom Hertel and Taylor Reed at Fullback. Batesville held New Palestine scoreless in the second half and had several good opportunities of their own. Final score was 4 -1.

The Batesville Blaze soccer team plays for the Batesville Soccer club in the Central Indiana Youth Soccer League under 12 “B” competitive division. They play teams from all around central Indiana in an 8 vs. 8 format.
The Blaze opened their spring season April 13 at home with a 3-2 win over the Bloomington Cutters. The Blaze had goals from Luis Davalos and Rick Linville (2). The winning goal was set up by an outstanding throw-in from Josh Kinker. Strong goalkeeping by Seth Parker and Matthew Dennis helped secure the win.
The Blaze next played April 19 at home against the St. Francis Blue Raiders. Batesville dominated this game winning 4-0. Luis Davalos (3) and Rick Linville combined to score the goals, with two assists by Hayden Johnson. Butch Laker, Evan Hawkins, and Jacob Hawkins turned in strong performances in the midfield and on the defensive end.
Batesville netted their third win on April 20 with a 4-2 decision over the Greenfield Strikers in a hard-played game at Greenfield. Rick Linville (3) and Luis Davalos again combined for the goals. Matthew Hurm and Justin Paul were a force in the midfield, with Paul providing the assist on the final goal. Seth Parker (goalie), Matthew Dennis, Josh Kinker, and Jacob Meyer anchored a strong defensive effort.

The Batesville Blaze U12B soccer team is now 5-1 after a busy weekend of soccer in the Central Indiana Youth Soccer League.
On Saturday April 26, the Batesville Blaze traveled to Bloomington for a rematch with the Cutters. The Blaze took the lead on a goal from Luis Davalos in a very close game. Unfortunately, Bloomington was able to net two late goals for a 2-1 victory. The Blaze had good midfield and defensive play from Josh Kinker, Matthew Hurm, and Jacob Meyer.
On Sunday April 27, the Blaze played a doubleheader at home against the Center Grove Heat. Both games were hard fought, tight battles with strong second half performances by the Blaze. Batesville won the first game 2-1 with goals by Rick Linville and Hayden Johnson. Seth Parker provided a solid performance in goal. Evan Hawkins and Jacob Hawkins played well in the midfield and on the defensive end.
The second game of the doubleheader found the Blaze again winning by the score of 2-1. Luis Davalos found the net for both goals, the second one off a nice assist from Hayden Johnson. Matthew Dennis, Butch Laker, and Justin Paul were a force with their midfield and defensive play.

The Batesville Blaze U12B soccer team is now 7-1 after securing two victories this past weekend in the Central Indiana Youth Soccer League.
On Saturday May 3, the Batesville Blaze hosted the Mooresville Komets. The Komets came out strong and took an early lead. The Blaze then ignited to score five straight goals, three from Rick Linville and two from Luis Davalos, to secure a 5-3 victory. The Blaze had good midfield and defensive play from Matthew Dennis, Matthew Hurm, and Jacob Meyer.
On Sunday May 4, the Lawrence County Orbits visited the Batesville Blaze. The Blaze jumped out early and never looked back for a 4-0 victory. Batesville had goals from Hayden Johnson, Rick Linville, and Luis Davalos (2). Seth Parker played very well in goal to secure the shutout. Josh Kinker, Justin Paul, and Butch Laker played well in the midfield and on the defensive end.
